Annabel Berry Creative Co Celebrated with Dual Wins at Resene Total Colour Awards
Annabel Berry Creative Co was honoured with two prestigious Resene Total Colour Awards at this month’s annual ceremony in Auckland, recognising the exceptional design work behind the Whitestone Cheese Diner & Deli project.
The studio received both the Exterior Maestro Colour Award and the Commercial Interior + Public Colour Award for its innovative and vibrant interpretation of a modern 1950s colour palette, which brought the Diner’s personality to life inside and out.
Judges praised the interior, describing it as:
"A cosy, welcoming space that perfectly balances modern aesthetics with timeless charm. Exuding confidence, the interior blends retro details with contemporary elements, evoking a strong sense of nostalgia. Every surface has been considered, with meticulous attention to detail ensuring the theming flows seamlessly throughout. The colour use is simply captivating."
The bold exterior also caught the judges' eye, earning accolades for its standout presence and visual allure:
"Irresistibly charming — who wouldn’t want to step into a café that looks like this? The playful, nostalgic colour palette draws you in, sparking anticipation for what awaits inside. It captures the magic of retro design while offering a fresh twist on vintage hues. An exceptional example of how colour can transform an unassuming building into a must-visit local landmark."
On the night Annabel dedicated the awards to Founder, Sue Berry, who's love of sunsets inspired the colour palette. 'This is a tribute to Sue and all she has done for Whitestone Cheese', Annabel said.
These awards cement Annabel Berry Creative Co’s reputation as a master of impactful commercial design, using colour with creativity and precision to help businesses shine brighter and stand out from the crowd.
